The Vajolet Towers are a group of elegant spires at the heart of the Catinaccio massif, towering above Rifugio Re Alberto. The most famous for climbers are the Delago, Stabeler, and Winkler towers, which offer spectacular and airy climbs.
DESCRIPTION
The majestic Vajolet TOWERS are a must-see for those who love retracing the great routes that have made the history of mountaineering.
These spires, made of excellent dolomite, welcome climbers from all over the world every year to climb them. The most famous routes are found on the Winkler, Stabeler, Delago towers, and the small Piz Piaz.
To reach them, you can use the lift from Vigo or Pera di Fassa, then take the path leading to Rifugio Gardeccia. From there, you can ascend to Rifugio Vajolet and continue to Rifugio Re Alberto, the ideal base for the tower climbs.
Another practical option, for those familiar with using e-MTBs, is to cycle up to Rifugio Gardeccia (or Vajolet) and then continue on foot.
There are several options to choose from, depending on your climbing level and available time. You can tackle different routes or combine them to climb 2 or more towers. Some of the most popular are the Normal route on the central tower, Stabeler, or the very airy and exposed Piaz corner on Delago, possibly preceded by a short acclimatization climb on Piz Piaz.
By staying at Rifugio Re Alberto or Vajolet, you can also combine other interesting climbs, such as the Normal route on Catinaccio or one of the routes on Punta Emma.
